Bereavement and Palliative Care

Bereavement and Palliative Care

Using Skills for Care funding, we have created these resources for both PAs and PA Employers. We at Pathfinders would like to express our thanks to everyone involved in planning and creating this module.

We decided to develop these resources due to several reasons:

  • Personal experiences of colleagues.
  • Lack of research into the impacts this can cause, especially for PAs.
  • How society doesn’t acknowledge the significance of the relationship between a PA and an Employer.

The resources we’ve created include a 45-minute video and an accompanying workbook. The video introduces grief, covering its different types, the impacts it can have, and techniques to help manage it. It also features user-led perspectives from individuals who have experienced grief and insights from professionals, including the legal considerations when an employer passes away.

To best use the workbook, we recommend using Adobe PDF reader, which allows you to add your own notes.

We have also included the redundancy guide Mark Bates Ltd. provided us during the planning of this module. If you have different employment insurance, we suggest you ask them if they have a redundancy guide if you require one.
